Cheryl Simpson

 Classes are focused on enjoying the experience, making sure there is constructive feedback along the way.  Participants are encouraged to practice the techniques, while also enjoying themselves in a relaxed atmosphere.

 Cheryl was born and raised in Yorkshire, UK. Art has been a lifelong passion, loved from a very young age and inspired by her dad, who was a watercolor artist. Cheryl has been teaching art since 2020.

Cheryl says: ‘My style is a fusion of abstract realism, often starting in a loose and carefree manner and developing as I go. I love working with all art mediums and enjoy sharing my passion for art through teaching. Charcoal portraiture is a particular favourite.’ 

Throughout Cheryl’s career, she has hosted numerous workshops, participated in several solo and group exhibitions, and was the winner of the People and Portrait category at the 2023 Hawkes Bay (NZ) Artfully Yours Exhibition.
