Welcome to 2026 at SCAC

Happy New Year to all. Welcome to new members and welcome back to continuing

members.

There are two NEW classes starting this term with places still available in each:

• Charcoal, Graphite and Ink Drawing class on Thursday afternoon at 1 pm with

Rose Gilbey,

• An extra Journalling class on Monday at 9.30 with Jenni Mills.

Quite a few classes are already full but there are still spots left in some, for example

Pastel Practice on Friday afternoon at 1.00 with Grant Eyre.

2026 began to a great start with a very successful Creative Week workshop

program . Workshops covered a variety of mediums , including oil painting, drawing with charcoal, and pastels. Subjects included landscapes, travel sketching and journalling amongst others. A big thank you to Management Committee member Jannine Brooks for organising the two weeks so brilliantly.

In other news, one of our very treasured tutors has decided to call time on her years

of teaching at the centre. Alison Dickin has been teaching here for 12 years and

leaves some very sad students in her ever-popular Botanical and Wildlife class. So,

many many thanks Alison for all your hard work since 2013. You will be very much

missed.

A reminder – classes begin in the week beginning Monday 2 nd February.
