About the Course
Learn the art of mosaics whilst exploring a range of materials and projects. Afternoon and evening classes on Mondays. This class is project based so we will learn all of the aspects needed to create your project each term.
What you will learn:
You will learn the basic rules of andamento, how to measure values and plan out a mosaic through drawing and how to create the project of your choice using correct techniques for your application.
The term generally works like this
Week 1 - Cutting and exploring materials
Week 2 - Drawing and planning your project and colours
Week 3 - Starting project
Week 4-8 - continue working on your mosaic and get to know other aspects of other
projects made in the class.
Week 9 - Complete your piece or carry on to the following term.
What Materials you will use:
Pencils PVA glue/ adhesive ; Glass tiles and gems. Stone and Marble. Grout Brushes Tweezers Paint
Please bring with you a book and pencil for your design, some inspiration to work from and some tracing paper and any extra materials you want to incorporate into your piece.
All other materials are included in the price and after you try out all the tools and equipment you can work to purchase your own kit of tools for you to work in between classes if desired.
Please wear enclosed shoes and clothes that can get messy.
Your Instructor
Erin Hall

Erin Hall has been working with Mosaics for 15 years and in that time, she has trained locally with
Caitlin from Hepworth Studios. She has studied internationally via Mosaics Arts Online and attended
courses with other artists. She has a Certificate 3 in Design Fundamentals and a Certificate 4 in
Workplace Training and Assessment She has a Working with Children’s Check, current first aid
training and experience with neurodiversity.
