Travel Sketching Workshop

This will be a pen and wash workshop. We will sketch from photographs, both urban and rural, of France and Australia.

Grant will demonstrate the pen and wash approach to capturing those special travel scenes. You will learn how to extract and create a strong work from a photograph; use of shadows to add drama; simple perspective and colour selection.

Materials to bring :

A5 Pad or sketch book suitable to take ink and wash, (225gms or better. ). Stratmore or Artec brands.

Watercolours in cool and warm hues .

4B pencil.

Watercolour brushes, a round and a flat. Both as big as your finger .

Black ballpoint biro or liner pen, or dip pen and bottle ink. ( Biro is simplest).

Use your photos if you wish .
