About the Course

In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere students will work on their own individual projects being guided and helped by Leonie. This class is for both the beginner and more advanced student to learn new skills and develop existing ones with the help and experience of their tutor.


Learn how to use a commercial pattern and your own sewing machine to make clothing, furnishing and patchwork projects.



  1.  How to read and use a commercial pattern.

  2.  Suitable fabrics and interfacings.

  3.  What tools, threads, needles accessories to use.

  4.  Laying and cutting of fabrics.

  5.  Pattern alterations

  6.  Fitting of garments.

  7.  Colour choose (if applicable)

  8.  Working tips.


Student to bring:

  • Sewing machine.

  • Pattern.

  • Pins.

  • Paper and fabric scissors.

  • Tape measure.

  • Sewing thread.

  • Fabric for project.

  • Hand and machine needles

  • Unpicker.
