About the Course
An art journal is an excellent, healthy way to explore and express emotions or reflect in a creative and visual way. Whether you want to improve your art skills, learn to express yourself visually, or just experiment and have fun, this class is your jumping off point in a relaxed environment for teens and young people.
Learn
Through a series of structured lessons you will learn various techniques to create an expression of your thoughts and record experiences through art journaling. Techniques include:
Creating a composition from a prompt
Colour and shape associations
Stencilling
Colourwash
Free writing
Gel printing
Mark making and stamping
Using ink and paint pens to embellish
Collage
Free sketching
Making and using journal fodder (tags, textiles, junk journaling)
Required Materials
You will need an A4 journal. Inexpensive Visual journals are fine.

We will have some art supplies and tools available for the class but feel free to bring any personal art supplies you want to work with. Through the term we will work with:
