About the Course
This 9-week course is an introduction to the world of mosaics for children aged 7-12 years. Children will enjoy cutting and making a piece of mosaic artwork using a variety of glass tiles and gems.
What you will learn:
Cutting materials
Handling mosaic tools
Opus palladianum
A variety of ways to lay tiles in traditional and non traditional Opus styles.
Measuring value and contrast
Designing your project
Grouting your work
What Materials you will use:
Pencils
PVA glue
Glass tiles
Glass gems
Grout
Brushes
Tweezers
Paint
At the end of the term, you will have a Christmas themed design. This could include a star, tree or wreath.
Please ensure your child wears enclosed shoes and clothes that can get messy.
Creative Kids voucher $50 - is available to use on booking. Read the booking information in the online booking area to apply your voucher. Your Instructor
Erin Hall
Erin Hall has been working with Mosaics for 10 years and in that time, she has trained locally with Caitlin from Hepworth Studios. She has studied internationally via Mosaics Arts Online and attended many symposiums on Mosaics. She has a Certificate 3 in Design Fundamentals and a Certificate 4 in Workplace Training and Assessment that she has used in her working life as a Sustainable Living Educator. She has a Working with Children’s Check, current first aid training and experience with neurodiversity.
She has over the past three years, taught kids classes and adults classes for the Hepworth Studios in Woodford.
